Life In The Fast Lane//Moving Too Slowly

Two weeks before I leave for this adventure of a lifetime. I'm incredibly excited, but as I sit here, nursing myself back to health from a bout of a cold/sore throat, I am not blind to the dangers of this undertaking either. As my departure date gets closer and closer, time seems to go slower and slower, and I keep remembering things that need to be done. It's a little frustrating actually. It seems like the perfect way to forget something important. (Knock on wood!)

As of now, though, I am appreciating the last couple weeks with my family, even if time is going slowly. I know that all too soon time will be flying by and I will be halfway around the world. (Literally. It's a 12-hour time difference.)

Thanks to Paul McPherson for convincing me I needed a current picture, and for taking quite a few on a lovely afternoon in Gloucester! This one is my favorite.

Fall and the Farmington Fair

In Farmington, fall is ushered in by nothing short of the biggest display of local color we see all year: The week of the Farmington Fair. Smoky's Greater Shows comes to town for one week, and then we know it is really, truly the season for crisp apples and cider and cinnamon donuts and doughboys and bloomin' onions and that bite in the air.

Though I spent too much time there this year, (maybe it was to make up for the last two years when I've missed it?) two afternoons were worth it: one with my sister and one with my dear, darling grandmother.

Clouds, Reflections, and Lights From the Car

Two days after I got back from the New York/Massachusetts adventure/extravaganza, I took a quick overnight trip to Lake George with my Mum. I started fooling around with my camera in the car and got a little carried away. Here is a sampling of the result:

Boston/Wellesley/Brooklyn/Ithaca/Rochester/Lake George Trip

This past weekend I took a road trip with four great friends that took us all over New York and Massachusetts. We got lost (lots), went to a park, hung out with more friends, got lost again, bought a map, still got a little lost, hung out with a different friend, saw a concert, lost a little of the upper register of our hearing, drove all night and didn't get lost, didn't sleep enough, went boating, had family dinner, and played Booby-Trap!

Some photos, for your viewing pleasure:

College Searching...

In my seemingly endless search for the perfect school, I have somehow overlooked Wellesley College. Until just the other day, I'd never thought about it, looked at the website, or visited. On Friday, I was able to rectify all three of those oversights, and oh.my.gosh. Beauty, beauty, beauty. I couldn't get enough. If the only factor that mattered when choosing a school was the campus, Wellesley would have me sold. I spent three hours walking around the campus, talking to students and one professor, and attempting to get an interview (to no avail). Here are some of the pictures from this wonderfully magical, gorgeous, inspiring place:
